Preparing for Practice is not a recruitment effort - It is an educational program that will help trainees feel for more comfortable with the process of finding their post training position and understanding employment agreements. The program will be offered in a relaxed, informal environment with ample opportunities to ask questions. This year, we are offering two sessions, giving residents the option to determine what topics might be of value to them depending on their timeline. These sessions will be repeated in the Fall of 2020.

SESSION 1 : CV's, Searches, and Interviews (Friday, Feb. 21, 2020)

This session will focus on beginning your search for the right position after residency training. Topics to be covered include how to prepare for job interviews - what to expect, where to look, what questions to ask, as well as developing your CV. This session is targeted towards trainees expecting to graduate in 2021.

SESSION 2: Contracts, Compensations, Negotiations, and RVU's (Friday, March 6, 2020)

After attending Session 2 of the program, trainees can expect to understand common contract provisions as well as ones that can be risky, learn about compensation models and benefits packages, and get tips on how to negotiate. This session is targeted toward trainees expecting to graduate in 2020 or 2021.
